This page explains what happens to personal data on this website. It is written to describe what the site actually does, rather than to cover every hypothetical.
The short version
This site has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and no social media embeds. It sets no tracking cookies. The only personal data collected is what you choose to type into the contact form.
Who is responsible
This is a personal website belonging to Aigbedion Oghomwen, based in Munich, Germany. For any question about your data, including the requests described below, use the contact form on the homepage.
What the contact form collects
When you send a message, the following is processed:
- Your name, email address, subject and message — everything you type into the form.
- Your IP address — recorded briefly to limit how many messages can be sent from one connection, which is what stops the form being abused for spam. It is also included in the notification email so that abuse can be traced.
- The time of submission.
The legal basis is legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: responding to enquiries addressed to me, and keeping the form usable by preventing abuse.
Where messages go
Messages are delivered to a personal email inbox. They are not added to a mailing list, not used for marketing, and not passed to anyone else for their own purposes.
Delivery is handled by a third-party email provider acting as a processor, which necessarily sees the content of the message in order to deliver it. Messages are also briefly held by the web host during sending.
How long it is kept
- Rate-limiting records tied to your IP address expire automatically after one hour.
- Form data held temporarily to redisplay the form after an error is deleted after five minutes.
- The email itself stays in the recipient inbox for as long as the correspondence is relevant, and is deleted when it no longer is.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like effectively all web servers, the host keeps access logs that may include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. These logs are controlled by the hosting provider under its own retention policy.
Cookies and local storage
No tracking or analytics cookies are set. If you use the light/dark theme switch, your preference is saved in your browser’s localStorage under the key aigb-theme. That value never leaves your device and is not readable by the server. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Fonts and external requests
The page loads no fonts, scripts, or assets from third-party servers. Typography uses the fonts already installed on your device. This is deliberate: loading fonts from an external provider would disclose your IP address to that provider on every visit.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to the personal data held about you, request correction or erasure, object to processing, or request restriction. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. To make any of these requests, use the contact form.
Changes
If the site changes in a way that affects this description — for example if analytics were ever added — this page will be updated to say so.
